ABOUT THE PROJECT An identity for the Chicago Architecture Biennial inspired by the language we encounter in public spaces—signs, markers, plaques, newsletters, classified ads. Geometric frames act as containers for type but also represent physical blocks or bricks. Through stacking and shifting, we synthesize visual metaphors—basic building materials, the decorative inlay at the Chicago Cultural Center, paths and sidewalks—to represent the many stories of Chicago.
